I traded the ST4 in on the VFR at the beginning of February 2001 and so far I've had only one small problem which was fixed under warranty. That is, up until the tank slapper that buried both me and the bike under an on-coming Nissan Pulsar.

Jan 2002 19,140 Replaced front Bridgestone 010 with a Michelin Pilot Sport (got another puncture just short of the natural life of the tyre... I'm starting to get very sick of these punctures). Had done 6,640klms. $217 Feb 2002 20,000 Upgraded the Scottoiler with a High Capacity Reservoir and Dual Injector system. $143 Mar 2002 21,000 Removed Scottoiler Dual Injector system and reverted to original (single sided injector) set-up. The Duel Injector nibs kept getting chewed up in the chain and ripped off. It was more hassle than it was worth. April 2002 22,837 24,000klm service (oil and filter changed, general tighten up of nuts, bolts, clamps, mounts, and all round check over, injectors tuned, air filter replaced, brake fluid, clutch fluid and coolant replaced, spark plugs replaced, checked valve clearances, replaced steering head bearings with the Honda tapered variety, replaced fork oil (10W). Scottoiler HCR still going strong. $849 May 2002 25,620 Rear tyre replaced with another Pilot Sport (was peeling off in chunks and had little bits of belt showing). Had done 10,120klms. $275 Sept 2002 28,648 30,000klm service (oil and filter changed, general tighten up of nuts, bolts, clamps, mounts, and all round check over, steering head bearings adjusted, lube of all pivot points). Replaced front brake pads. $280 Mar 2003 33,143 Replaced front and rear tyres with Pilot Sports. Front had done 14,003klms and was still looking very good (probably could have got another 3,000klms out of it). Rear had done 7,523klms, and probably could have gone another few hundred klms. The reason I replaced them both was because I had a big ride coming up that I didn't want stuffed tyres to interfere with, and I wanted to have a new properly matched set. $197 + $275
= $472May 2003 37,600 Had a huge accident, and wrote the VFR off. See the VFR Accident page for details. Payout Figure = $10,990
